Dana Fidler is an interdisciplinary artist from New Jersey, currently based in Tampa. They hold a BA in Art Therapy, BS in Applied Sociology, and an MA in Social and Emerging Media from the University of Tampa. Dana is an art educator for a K-8 charter school in Tampa Bay, passionate about holding a safe creative space for young artists.
Dana works with a material immediacy that is apparent in their work, as her inspiration is largely drawn from materials themselves. Dana’s work explores bodies, figurative and literal consumption, value, memory, and authentic interaction. She is passionate about bridging materiality and digital experiences, with a focus on interactivity and public engagement. Much of their recent work explores the act of collecting and arranging objects, images, and materials combined with textile and sculptural elements.
